Here Goes Nothing

Gonna finally build a website for myself.

I built my first complete website late in 2006 while living in a donkey barn. The awful, fixed-width site was for the my employers, the folks that owned the donkeys, and the business that we operated. My first website client hired me in 2010. Since then I have built many websites as a subcontractor, and many more for my own clients. In all that time I have not had a website dedicated to my coding shenanigans, nor have I had any sort of portfolio.

Sure, I have started websites for myself, but I have never finished one. I have had domain names, hosting accounts, color schemes imagined, graphics concocted, and a string of incomplete GitHub repositories. Now that I am a geezer, I feel the need to put up a website for the Controlled Chaos Design name that I have used since 1994, even if nobody reads it or if it doesn’t attract a single client.

So here goes nothing. On July 14th, 2026, I have spun up yet another GitHub repository. This time not for a WordPress theme and a companion plugin, it will be an adventure in learning how to use GitHub to host a website, and learn the platforms that it uses.

If you are reading this I suppose I had some degree of success.
